What to Expect in Worship

Traditional ELCA Lutheran worship.  We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday.  Everyone is welcome!

What kind of church are you?

Epiphany of Christ Lutheran Church is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (or ELCA) denomination. 

What music do you play or sing?

Traditional worship with organ or piano accompaniment.  Occasionally, we have additional musicians.  Our choir sings almost every Sunday from Advent to Easter.

What should I wear?

You are welcome to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.  

Will I have to stand up and introduce myself?

No. Our ushers greet you at the door (and sometimes outside the doors.  They may ask you to introduce yourself to them, and they may introduce you to the pastor.  

Do I have to become a member?

You are welcome to become a member, but it will never be required.  We have many "winter visitors" who are associate or seasonal members since they have full membership at a church in another location.

What about Holy Communion?

We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday and sometimes on other Holy Days.  Everyone is welcome, including children.  Our church building is very accessible.  If you have mobility challenges, the pastor is happy to bring Holy Communion to you in your seat. Tell an usher if you would like this.

Can I bring kids to worship?

Yes, all ages are welcome. 

Do you pass an offering plate?

Yes. Giving is between you and God, and many people give online, so just pass the plate.
